Emergency Need! (UPDATED)

Now that the persistent rains in our area have (hopefully) stopped, it's time for recovery for the thousands of residents hardest hit in our communities.

(Photos clockwise from top left: WCHS reporter Meredith Wood interviews Union Mission President and CEO Rex Whiteman; some goods loaded in one of our signature trailers; Rex holds a 'flood relief' banner for Charleston Daily Mail photographer Craig Cunningham; an example of the tremendous devastation in Mingo County is shown in this Tom Hindman photo courtesy of the Charleston Daily Mail)

We need your help. We are currently holding an emergency collection for flood relief. Our friends at
WCHS-TV are hosting the drive at their parking lot starting at noon today. After we've collected enough items, we'll be delivering them to the areas south of us where the floods wreaked havoc over the last few days. You can also purchase and donate items off at any Kroger location; we'll do a pickup at those locations as well.

We need:

  • Bleach

  • Cleaning supplies

  • Drinking water

  • Non-perishable food

  • Financial contributions

Please keep those in southern West Virginia in your prayers as they fight to recover what's been lost in these floods. We appreciate your support as we do God's work. Thank you for your donations!

(A big thank you to the Daily Mail and the Charleston Gazette for helping us get the word out!)
