Governor Joe Says Give to Union Mission

For those of you who tuned into the 6 p.m. newscast for WCHS-TV8/Fox 11 Eyewitness News, you saw West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin bringing in his donation for our Fight Against Hunger canned food drive. If you missed it, scroll on for more pictures.

Manchin, who is scheduled to join us in serving our annual Thanksgiving meal to guests at Union Mission Crossroads on Nov. 25 (the day before Thanksgiving), is a big supporter of The Mission, both in donating his time and by bringing in canned goods every year. We appreciate his support immensely.

If you'd like to donate, here's a list of some places that are currently collecting canned food items for Union Mission. (This is not a comprehensive list, and we are adding more locations literally every day. Stay tuned for more locations; we'll add them as quickly as we can.)

Papa John's Pizza
(Patrick Street location: until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, bring in 12 cans of food and get a free large, one-topping pizza!)

(inside Capitol Market; Allan Hathaway, the owner of the Purple Onion, is also graciously hosting one of our coin collection boxes. Hint, hint.)

Bible Center Church
(we have a trailer at the Oakhurst Drive Campus, not the new campus past Southridge.)

WCHS-TV8/Fox 11 Studios
(Piedmont Road, Charleston)
Medical Management Professionals, Inc.
(Office is at 3508 Staunton Avenue in Kanawha City; theirs is a white buidling across from Murad's, and they are collecting on the first floor.)

West Virginia State Capitol Cafeteria/Food Court

Oh, and here are the pictures from Governor Manchin's visit to the Fight Against Hunger last night.
